Can Duran is a company based in the Osona district and specialising in the production of high quality cured meats. Its beginnings go back to 1946, when Josep Duran and his wife, Montserrat Piñana opened a pork butcher’s in the village of Centelles. Over the years, the establishment took on a character of its own, and the popularity of its handmade products grew.

In 1990, with Àngel Duran representing the second generation at the head of the business, Can Duran moved to Vic. From these new facilities it began the process of consolidating its business in Spain and its expansion throughout Europe. Can Duran went from being a small village business to an expanding, nationally recognised manufacturer.

Today, with the incorporation of the third generation into the business, Can Duran is a prominent company in the cured meats sector in the domestic and European market. More than 60 years after its creation, the company retains the initial handmade style passed down from earlier generations, yet it has also adapted to the new times. The latest cutting-edge technology has been incorporated into the production system, with the aim of ensuring maximum quality of the company’s products. In 2008, a year after inaugurating the new production plant in Vic, its main goal continues to be meeting the needs of consumers and customers.

Can Duran has set itself new challenges for the coming years, including consolidating its position in the domestic market and in Europe, where it has been present for over 8 years, and opening up new markets. It aims to instigate an international expansion plan extending beyond the boundaries of the European market and to continue with the development of new products aimed at increasingly demanding consumers.
